Add a reference to Gift Aid contributions on Xero for easy reconciliation
We use both the HMRC Gift Aid integration and the Xero integration. When a GA claim is successful, the individual amounts are added to the related transactions in Donorfy, which is great. We receive a lump sum for the total amount, but the transactions get sent to Xero as individual line items, which need to be reconciled. However, they are not given a unique shared reference, meaning we have to reconcile potentially thousands of transactions manually by amount, which is laborious and difficult. If those transactions were given a shared reference which pulled through to Xero, we could search for that reference in Xero and the reconciliation would take moments rather than hours. An example reference would be "GA-Claim-[Date of GA submission]", eg "GA-Claim-01-08-2024".
